Town of Mount Desert year-round dining, other services

The free listing below – of off-season dining, shopping and other businesses in the villages of Northeast Harbor, Otter Creek, Seal Harbor, Somesville, Hall Quarry and Pretty Marsh – is initially based on information from the Mount Desert Chamber of Commerce.

Otter Cove

Otter Cove in the village of Otter Creek, as seen from the causeway of Acadia National Park’s one-way Park Loop Road.

An outgrowth of a blog post we did about springtime in Acadia National Park, this page is part of an evolving series on services available to visitors of Acadia National Park, as well as to area residents.

The Town of Mount Desert stretches from Otter Creek in the southeastern section of Mount Desert Island, around Somes Sound, and over to Pretty Marsh in the northwest corner of the island. The villages provide access to trails up Cadillac, Sargent, Penobscot and other Acadia mountains, as well to Jordan Pond House.

If you know of other businesses or organizations in the Town of Mount Desert that are open some or all of the off-season but are not included, feel free to let us know in a comment below, and we’ll add them to the free listing.
